Paris 13th district, Thomas Mann College, France

more infos

Paris 13th district, Thomas Mann College, France

This lighting design is part of the Energy Performance Tender of the city of Paris, 2013-2021 contract. This design is part of the 17 Parisian illuminations that favor neighborhood equipments and plazas.

We have created an attractive and joyful lighting design through the use of color. The walls of the junior high school become a color palette, on which red, amber and white light mix up and create new nuances. Light barely touches acroterions and emphasizes the structural components of the junior high school.

A Thomas Mann effigy light projection completes the illumination. This image can evolve towards a composition that would emerge from a consultation with the junior high school students, or that would take place during a special event, by simply changing the projector gobo. The lighting works following to the opening hours of the junior high school, and self regulates through an astronomical time clock.
